The former Dean of the College of Health Sciences and the School of Nursing & Midwifery at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland – Medical University of Bahrain. She completed her basic nursing education in Bahrain and in Ireland, and obtained her masters in nursing from Cardiff University in the UK. She earned the Irish fellowship for Faculty of Nursing and Midwifery professors from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. She is WHO short-term consultant in EMRO since 1995, and a member of the Regional Nursing Advisory group at EMRO – WHO. She has a prominent role in developing institutional strategies, education policies, and curriculum reforms in several countries including KSA, Qatar, Libya, UAE, Syria, Yemen, Pakistan, Somalia, and Iraq. She has several publications, and currently she is a free-lance consultant for Nursing Policy and Education Development.
